Man on the Bike
While driving to class the other day, I saw a guy on his bike trying to hold onto this huge piece of luggage strapped onto the front of his bike. To make matters worse, he also had a bag strapped onto his back. Poor guy was barely moving. The weight of his baggage kept him from barely moving forward.Right in that moment, as I was watching the efforts of that man trying to go forward, I heard the Holy Spirit say, "My darling, that is you." You see, if we simply give ALL of our baggage over to the Lord, it will make our journey sooo much easier. But, instead we insist upon carrying our burdens, hurts, fears, and wounds with us. Maybe it's a bad relationship that you are holding onto that has left you so wounded and hurt. Maybe someone victimized you, maybe you are hiding a dark secret that no one knows and you can't forgive yourself. Could it be that you are fearful of letting go of the past, because you are afraid of what the future holds for you? Whatever it is, I am telling you, you HAVE TO LET GO!!Living in the past and holding onto our baggage is deadly!!! If you are always looking behind you then you will never go forward, and you will lose sight of what is before you. Looking back destroys your future, dreams, and your potential.Here is some good news. Your past is OVER!! So, why keep living it???

"Aha Moments"
As I mentioned on my previous post, I had an "aha" moment, while at the gym doing my spin class. Here are some of the topics that I jotted down in my journal that I am going to talk about in later posts. Some of my passions are food, fashion, nutrition tips, cooking, exercising...etc so I'll cover some of these things in my posts, so check back for more updates!!

Style My Soul Fabulous
A little bit about me....
Today, while doing my Tuesday morning spin class, I had what I like to call an "aha" moment. I'm sure you have had one of those too. While jamming to some tunes and getting my sweat on, I felt the Holy Spirit give me an "aha" moment. He placed it on my heart to start a blog. So what did I do? I left in the middle of my spin class, ran into the locker room, and starting jotting down ideas for different blog posts I wish to write in the future. I have always enjoyed writing and expressing myself creatively, so thought, ok, why not?
As you can tell by the title of my blog "Style my Soul Fabulous", that most of the post will be geared toward women. I have always had a heart for helping the wounded, burdened, fearful, insecure, and precious souls of women. I have had the experience of working in a domestic violence shelter, doing missions over seas, being involved in small groups, and having close girlfriends where I see these common struggles. No matter what your background and stage in life is; I'm sure you have come face to face with some of these same struggles yourself. My goal in writing this blog is that it would be a place where you can come have girl talk with me,pour yourself a cup of your favorite ,yummy coffee( mine happens to be from Fresh Market....I make a special concoction of Tiramasu, Creme Brulee, and Molten Chocolate....it is sooo tasty) ,and let me share my struggles with you, so that we can walk out our freedom and victory in Christ together. I want nothing more to be free from these "demons", and see other women reach freedom and victory in their own personal loves too.
How I got the Title:
I was praying about something catchy and kinda girly, and Style my Soul Fabulous popped in my head. Each word meant something significant to me as I read their meanings in the Dictionary.
Style~
* A particular kind, sort,or type, as with reference to form, appearance,or character
*A particular, distinctive, or characterize mode of action or manner of acting
* An elegant, fashionable, or luxurious mode of living
*A mode of fashion, as in dress, especially good or approved fashion; elegance; smartness
Soul~
*The principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separate in existence from the body; the spiritual part if humans as distinct from physical part
*The emotional part of human nature; the seat of the feelings or sentiments

As I read the definition of the word style, I thought the meaning was sooo fitting!! The definition talks about appearance and character. My prayer is that your appearance will be transformed from the inside out. That your countenance will be transformed as you discover your true beauty, and the precious creation that you are. That you will have strong, Godly character, and be a woman that others want to "style" themselves after. Being a woman of elegance, who is respected, and admired for the way in which you live your life. The second word, soul. May your soul and spirit be healed, restored, and you find yourself on the path of restoration. Thirdly, Fabulous, I just love the sound of this word. Almost impossible to believe, incredible, and marvelous, define fabulous. Girlfriend, you were created for an extraordinary life of style and fabulousness (yes, i made this a word), so start living it NOW!!
