Healthy habits for kids and Recipe blogs I LOVE!

        I am so passionate about helping kids create healthy eating habits at a young age. I have been a nanny for yrs and am a substitute teacher now as I finish up my teaching degree. Stats show that the prevalence of overweight children ages 6-11 has TRIPLED!! Parents, you play such a vital role in your children's lives. Little eyes are always watching what you do. Applaud yourself for making healthy lifestyle changes in your own life, because as you do this your children will see the benefits of eating healthy and exercising and want to be like you. Say no to fast food, or try just having it once a wk!! I know life gets busy and evenings are a hectic time , but try sitting down as a family for dinner at least 3 times a wk. It is a great time to reconnect and shows your kids that you care. Put AWAY your phones for 15 min and have a convo with your kids! Growing up as busy as we were playing sports we still managed to have family dinners a couple times a wk. I will cherish those special times. Most importantly STOP buying junk food for your kidos and fast food every night of the wk!!Yes, let your kids treat themselves, but not everyday. They will thank you later when they reach high school and adulthood and don't have to fight the battle of the bulge and get on high blood pressure and other meds. 70% of the population is obese!! I am more than happy to be the minority in this case!!  Sorry for the rant! I am just so passionate about this. Kids eat what you buy them. They can't drive to the store themselves, so provide them with healthy and yummy foods. Even make the memories of cooking together!!
